The Value of Intel's Board in Two Charts
[Opinion] With CEO Pat Gelsinger gone, everyone's taking shots at Intel's board. Here are the only numbers that matter
Good Morning from Taipei,
Three months ago I published two charts comparing TSMC and Intel and their respective CEOs. Pat Gelsinger was still employed and the wheels had not yet fallen off the Intel wagon. But I sensed he was overpaid.
Perhaps I was being a little harsh. Sure, Gelsinger’s compensation package was exorbitant, but the Board of Directors signed off on it so they’re equally to blame. So today, instead of sizing up CEOs against their company earnings I figured we should look at their respective Boards. Doug and Dylan at SemiAnalysis are among those piling onto Intel’s directors this week. You already know my view on Gelsinger’s appointment.
Here’s two charts which paint the picture very clearly.
Instead of begging US taxpayers for money, I think Intel and its board need to tighten their belts rather than lining their pockets.
I found this contrast interesting, so I thought I’d share.
Thanks for reading.
